From a requirement of the Australian Department of Defence for
operations in IRAQ and Afghanistan, Anitcom have designed, developed
and manufacture a range of robust deployable cooling units. These
cooling units fit to the EDAK Equipment Case
range of products fitted with any 19 inch rack-mounted computing,
networking or electronic equipment. Units are available in 8, 10 and
12 rack unit sizes rated at 600 Watts, 1000 Watts and 1000 Watts
respectively. An 8 rack unit 500 watt unit is also available. This
system utilises R417A environmentally friendly gas.
Each unit will dissipate heat from the case to a total capacity as
specified at 35 degrees Celsius Ambient temperature. These units are
designed to operate at up-to 50 degrees Celsius. With adequate
airflow outside the unit and within the case, limited periods of
up-to 55 degrees Celsius can be achieved. If prolonged exposure to
temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius are encountered, each of the
models will switch off as they are protected by a high pressure high
temperature cut off switch. 
Each Unit is delivered ready for installation and replaces
the standard EDAK equipment case lid. They are mounted onto the EDAK
equipment case using the hinges provided on the side of each case.
An optional transit case is also available.
